I don't know anything about Lennard Pearce apart from the fact he passed away in December 1983, during the filming of the fourth series. Many episodes had to be re-filmed due to this, one being Hole in One where Uncle Albert falls down a pub cellar. The two pictures shown below show the same scene, one featuring Grandad the other featuring Albert.
